Sal Galvano– Camp Director

 

Coach Galvano is a native of New York State, where he attended and played at Division I Canisius College and Division III SUNY Brockport respectively.  As a collegiate player he was honored with being named to the All-SUNYAC and NSCAA Regional All-America teams. 

Following a successful collegiate career as a player he trained with and played with professional teams the Buffalo Blizzards (NPSL) and the Rochester Raging Rhinos (A-League), but concentrated his efforts toward his coaching career.

He began his coaching experience at the age of 20 by becoming the head coach for the U-16  New York State West Olympic Development Program (ODP).  He then proceeded to the collegiate scene at the age of 21 by becoming the assistant coach at Genesee Community College.  There he helped Genesee CC reach top 20 national ranking 3 consecutive years.  Then he became the 1st head women’s soccer coach at Cedar Valley College in Dallas, TX.  As a first year varsity program, he led them to championship status becoming the 2003 Region V Champions and repeating again in 2005.  In 2005 he also led them to the District D championship and becoming NJCAA Division III National-runner up.  In 3 varsity seasons at Cedar Valley College he has produced 18 Region V All-Region players, 9 NSCAA All-South/Central regional players, 4 NJCAA All-America, and 7 NSCAA 1st Team All-America. 

Currently, Coach Galvano is the head men’s and women’s soccer coach at Mesa Community College in Mesa, AZ.
